2022 3D modelling (Maya) compulsory assignment 2 HiØ


Assignment Brief:
MANDATORY ASSIGNMENT #2
Task Description:
Model a room (e.g., living room, kitchen, office, space station, laboratory, wizard’s study, etc.) in Maya.
The room must include:
Floor, ceiling, and at least 2 walls.
A table with at least one chair.
A ceiling lamp lighting the table.
One or more objects on the table (your choice).
At least 3 framed pictures on the walls.
A patterned rug on the floor.
At least one wall-mounted lamp.
Render at least 3 images of the room showcasing its details, ensuring the perspective feels like you're "inside" the room. Missing walls should not be visible in the renders.
Requirements:
Demonstrate skills in modeling, materials, texturing, and lighting learned in the course.
Use Arnold Renderer for the best results.
Creativity in style and furniture design is encouraged, as long as the requirements are met.
Assessment Criteria:
All models and assets used in the assignment must be created by you to demonstrate your own skills and understanding.
Technical use of tools in Maya.
Geometry and level of detail.
Effective application of materials, lighting, shadows, and textures.
Overall impression of the rendered model.
Deliverables:
Maya file (.mb).
Minimum of 3 rendered images (JPG or PNG).

Vader was not a part of the assignment brief, neither where the star destroyers, but i made them anyways. I made this after just 2.5 months of using Maya.

Assignment Brief:
MANDATORY ASSIGNMENT #3
Task Description:
Model a creature (e.g., an insect, fish, robot, alien, character from a game or movie, Santa Claus, snowman, animal, etc.) in a fitting environment (e.g., space station, laboratory, forest, beach, dungeon).
There are no specific requirements beyond a creature in an environment. However, the solution must demonstrate your skills and incorporate techniques learned in the course.
Complexity, detail, use of lighting, shadows, materials, and the quality of the rendered images are crucial for evaluation.
All models and assets must be created by you.
Assessment Criteria:
All models and assets used in the assignment must be created by you to demonstrate your own skills and understanding.
Technical use of tools in Maya.
Geometry (details, techniques).
Application of materials, lighting, shadows, and textures.
Overall impression and quality of rendered images.
Deliverables:
Maya file (.mb) for inspection.
At least three rendered images (JPG or PNG) showcasing the model.

In this task, since i already had Vader, i decided to also 3D model a Mandalorian Sith (Vaders apprentice in this universe), guards inspired by the Mandalorian helmets and the hangar of a star destroyer which stores Vaders shuttle, another shuttle and tie fighters.
This was made around when the Obi Wan Kenobi show was announced, so i also made a very shitty model of Obi Wan in the last render with only days to spare until deadline.

2022 3D animation (Maya) compulsory assignment 1 HiØ


Assignment brief:
MANDATORY ASSIGNMENT #1 – ROBOT
Task Description:
Create a scene in Maya featuring a robot as the central character.
The robot must have at least two animated elements, with at least one using inverse kinematics (IK).
The scene should include additional animated environmental elements, utilizing techniques such as keyframe animation or path motion.
The robot and environment can be anything (e.g., robotic animals, humanoid robots, indoors, outdoors, space).
Deliver a minimum 5-second animation (24 fps).
If rendering the sequence with Arnold is not possible, provide a playback video along with at least 3 high-quality still renders using Arnold.
Requirements:
All models must be created by you. Pre-made animations are not allowed.
If using downloaded models, specify which models were used and their source in your email or video description.
Animations should have a minimum resolution of 640x480.
Still renders should have a minimum resolution of 1024x768 (JPG or PNG format).
Assessment Criteria:
Demonstration of animation techniques learned in the course.
Technical use of tools in Maya.
Complexity, details, and overall visual impression of the animation and still renders.
Deliverables:
Animation video (.AVI, .MP4, or YouTube link).
At least 3 still renders (JPG or PNG).
Upload the animation and/or still images to your HIOF webpage.
Tips:
Use Arnold Renderer for the best results.
Post-processing adjustments (brightness/contrast) in Photoshop are allowed, but retouching is not permitted.
Plan your animation and save your progress frequently.

This text above was the assignment, i went way above the requirement of only applying animation to two elements as this and 3D modelleing where my favorite subjects.

MANDATORY ASSIGNMENT – MAD SCIENTIST/WIZARD'S LAB
Task Description:
Create a 3D animation scene in Maya, set in the laboratory of a mad scientist or wizard.
The scene should include thematic elements, showcasing techniques such as nCloth, Fluid, Bifrost, nHair, and solid/soft body physics learned in the course.
Deliver a minimum 15-second animation at 24 fps. If rendering the full sequence with Arnold isn't possible, submit a playback video and at least three high-quality still renders using Arnold.
The mad scientist or wizard does not need to appear in the animation.
Requirements:
All models and assets must be created by you.
Specify any downloaded models/materials used (if applicable) in your email or video description.
Animations must have a minimum resolution of 640x480, and still renders must be at least 1024x768 (JPG or PNG format).
Assessment Criteria:
Effective use of tools and animation techniques in Maya.
Demonstration of complexity, details, and physics-based effects.
Application of lighting, textures, and environmental elements.
Overall quality and impression of the scene and rendered images.

Assignment brief:
MANDATORY ASSIGNMENT – COMMERCIAL FILM
Task Description:
Create a commercial film for a real or imagined product or service in Maya.
The animation must demonstrate techniques learned in the course, showcasing your skills.
Deliver a minimum 10-second animation at 24 fps.
If rendering the full sequence with Arnold isn't feasible, submit a playback video (Playblast) and at least three Arnold-rendered still images to showcase the scene's intended look.
Requirements:
The animation resolution must be at least 640x480, and still renders must be at least 1024x768 (JPG or PNG format).
Models can be downloaded, but their source must be specified in the submission email or at the start of the video.
All animations, rigging, and other elements must be created by you.
The assignment aims to demonstrate your mastery of animation techniques, with an emphasis on the overall impression.
Assessment Criteria:
Effective use of animation and rendering tools in Maya.
Demonstration of techniques learned in the course.
Quality of animation, still renders, and overall presentation.
Deliverables:
Animation video (.AVI, .MP4, or YouTube link).
At least three high-quality Arnold-rendered still images.
Submit links to all three assignments via Canvas.
